Guide
Who I amI am a 50k Brawl Stars player, with my favorite brawler Mortis. I have 100k mastery points on him, so you will get a guide from a real Mortis main. I had 1063 trophies on him, in the local 50, so stay tuned to find out the best tips& tricks for him.OverviewMortis🦇 is a Mythic brawler from the Mortuary Trio. He dashes at his attack, dealing 2000 damage. His super is a storm of bats🦇 that has long range, and heals❤️ Mortis for every enemy hit. It also deals 1800 damage, giving it an insane utility. His hypercharge🟣 is currently one of the best among all, returning the storm of bats🪃, dealing damage one more time. How to DashFirst step with Mortis is crucial, and it is to learn how to dash. His dash deals 2000 damage🗡, 2300 with damage gear, 2500 with hypercharge, and 2800 with damage gear and hypercharge. His dash is 2.67 tiles long➡️ and 4.67 tiles long with long⌛️ dash. There are three ways to use your dash:1. Normal Dash. This simply is the normal dash used to spam attacks or to run.
2. Dash-In, Dash-Out. This method is mostly used on counters, to avoid killing you.
3. Dash from one enemy to another. This method is mostly used when you have no counters, and to charge your super easier, helping in teamwipes.Super Usage. TeamwipeUsing your super is probably one of the most important tips. It deals 1800 damage, and heals for 2245 HP❤️ at power 11. To teamwipe, you must use your super on at least 2 or 3 enemies. If don't do so, it will take forever to charger, leading your enemies to an easy kill.Super charge rate:
1. Zero enemies with super: 5 hits. Tip: Use the Kamikatze trick to charge your super easily at the start of the game. Just press the gadget, and then spam your shots on brawlers with low damage like Ollie, Frank, but high health. This way, you can die, but you will have the super charged after it, making teamwipes after teamwipes.
2. One enemy with super: 4 hits required.
3. Two enemies with super: 2 hits required.
4. Three enemies with super: 1 hit required.
5. Four enemies with super: super already charged.Best buildGadget: Survival Shovel
This gadget🎮 will help Mortis recharge faster, helping him doing teamwipes, run away from enemies, charge his super at the start of the game or even more. His other gadget is useless, unless you are a showdown player that uses it to finish enemies off or to get cubes🔋 from power boxes faster.Star power: Coiled Snake
If you don't have it, you will feel like an eternity⌛️ to charge the long dash. Well, it is good for you that this star power exists! You can abuse it in-game after using your long dash, enemies will think that it will recharge after 4 seconds. Use this in your advantage to assassinate them at the exact same moment when it is charged.Gear 1: Bat Storm🦇
Finally a brawler with a Mythic Gear. Certainly, it is the best👌! It allows Mortis' bats to travel in a shorter time, making it easier to hit enemies with your super when you are teamwiping.Gear 2: Damage⚔️
This gear is a must, as it helps you in teamwipes heal more, which is a crucial thing, unless, you will die. It also helps you deal more damage, finishing enemies faster.CombosYou must learn Mortis' damage, if you want to know which brawlers to assassinate. If you assassinate the wrong one, you might get killed before realizing. Mortis' damage:1. Dash🔴: 2000 damage.
2. Super🟡: 1800 damage.
3. Three dashes: 6000 damage.
4. Three dashes with super: 7800 damage. You might get more dashes with your reload gadget, but these are the basics, which you will most commonly find.Tips& Tricks1. Engaging and disengaging. One of the most important thing at Mortis is knowing when to engage or to disengage a fight. You must engage a fight when you are full health with all 3 ammo. If you haven't got counters it's much better. You must disengage the fight when you remain low in health and don't have ammo or super.2. Adapt to the game. At the 900+ battles, you will mostly get counters, so you need to learn how to play against them. As an example, I will give Frank, who is one of your counters, and you can counter him like this: activate gadget, dash only when he is attacking, to avoid his attack. When he remains low, try to find a brawler to chain your supers on, healing and killing him.3. Baiting supers🟡 or gadgets🎮. This is a good thing to know, because most brawlers counter you with a knockback gadget or an annoying super. Try to dash-in, dash-out, and after they pressed their gadget go kill'em!4. Ball pressure. When you hold the ball, enemies will think that you try a superdash or a dribble. That is the best time to teamwipe them.5. Lining up➡️. Every good Mortis must find an opportunity to teamwipe, and that is when the enemies are lined up, yo hit all of them. At 1000+ games, pros try to not line up, but even there you can find an opportunity.6. Physic's🌒 first rule. His first rule is to count enemies ammo. After they don't have any, go with your dashes to kill them. Until they consumed all the ammo, try to dodge them in order to have more health❤️.Brawl Ball DribblesBall- ⚽️
Dash- 🔴
SuperDash- 🟥
SuperBall-🟡
Ball bounced off wall- ⚽️💥/🟡💥1. (⚽️🔴)/(⚽️💥🔴)
This is the simplest one. It consists in throwing the ball and dashing very fast, with no delay. If you have bad wifi, you can do it with the bounced ball.2. (🟡🟥)/(🟡💥🟥)
This requies good internet to make, and can allow you to go farther with the ball, and then catching it. It is very hard to find the perfect timing, but with some practice, you'll learn.3. 360°
You must do one of the dribbles that I explained you before but you must immediately shot after doing it, with no delay. Plus, you must rotate your attack or your super, which one you preffer, while doing that dribble.Matchups✅️Good Matchups✅️1️⃣ Piper🍪 – Her single-shot attacks are easy for Mortis to dodge, and she has no escape options up close than her super, which Mortis can counter.2️⃣ Barley🍷 – Mortis can dash through his splash damage and take him out quickly.3️⃣ Tick💣 – Mortis can weave through Tick’s mines and eliminate him with ease. His only problem is his head, but you can run from it until you regenerate you health.4️⃣ Dynamike💣 – His delayed shots are no match for Mortis' ability.5️⃣ Amber🔥 – Her damage is slow to ramp up, giving Mortis time to strike.6️⃣ Emz🎨 – While her damage builds over time, Mortis can dash in and burst her down before she fully activates her potential. She deals low damage up close, and she can use her gadget to counter you, but with one immediate dash, you can be back and kill her.7️⃣ Poco🎶 – Lacks high burst damage, making it easy for Mortis to win duels.8️⃣ Brock🚀 – His rockets are slow and predictable, allowing Mortis to close the gap easily. Only his gadget can counter him, but he can reach him with one more dash.9️⃣ Belle⚙️ – Her single-shot mechanic makes her an easy target for Mortis to dodge.🔟 Colt🔫 – If Colt doesn’t land his shots precisely, Mortis can take advantage of his low health.1️⃣1️⃣ Mr. P💼 – His damage is so low, and neither the super can counter you.1️⃣2️⃣ Frank🔨 – His delayed shots makes Mortis dash so easily not taking damage. When he remains low, chain your supers to heal up and to kill him.❌️Bad Matchups❌️1️⃣ Chester🧸 – His damage is low at the first attack, but when he reaches the 4th, he will erase you from the match.2️⃣ Shelly🔫 – Just one hint: FANTASTICO!🟡3️⃣ Bull🔫 – 4400 damage? Really? He counters you both with his super and attack which deal a lot of damage.4️⃣ Gene – His pull🤚 makes Mortis very vulnerable, and his gadget counters his dashes.5️⃣ Spike🌵 – His high-burst damage will finish Mortis in a matter of seconds.6️⃣ Leon🍭 – Same as Spike. You can counter him by dodging his first three attacks by going from right to left, and then dash to him with your gadget.7️⃣ Surge⚡️ – His shots deal consistent damage, his gadget will charge him extra ammo to finish Mortis, and he gets countered by his jumping super.------------------------------
Mortis is a high-risk, high-reward brawler who thrives on mobility, precision, and strategic aggression. Knowing his strengths and weaknesses allows you to play smarter—whether you're countering him or dominating matchups in his favor. Against tanky brawlers and ranged sharpshooters, Mortis struggles, but against slow attackers and squishy targets, he shines. If you're picking Mortis, focus on movement, timing, and maximizing his mobility to outmaneuver opponents. And if you're facing him, remember: spacing, burst damage, and teamwork are your best tools to shut him down. Now that you're armed with the knowledge to both play as Mortis and counter him, it's time to dash into battle and show off your skills! Good luck, and may your swipes be swift and your duels victorious! 🦇
Works Well With

Byron
Offers healing while dealing chip damage, helping Mortis clean up low-health enemies. He has long range and can help Mortis at the snipers he struggles. Can also be crucial in a teamwipe, giving Mortis overtime healing, and helping him with the damage. Byron's build:
Gadget: Booster Shots
Star Power: Injection
Gears: Damage and Shield/Healing

Ruffs
Ruffs’ Super drops a damage or health power-up, making Mortis significantly stronger when he picks it up. Ruffs can break walls with his Super, opening paths for Mortis to escape or chase down enemies. Ruffs’ rapid shots help soften enemies, letting Mortis go in for easy eliminations. If Ruffs drops his Super, let Mortis take the buff to become a stronger assassin. Ruff's build:
Gadget: Take Cover
Star Power: Air Superiority
Gears: Sheild and Damage

Sandy
Sandy’s Super lets Mortis sneak up on enemies without being seen, setting up clean eliminations. Sandy’s wide splash attack pressures enemies, making them easier for Mortis to finish off. Drop Sandy’s Super when Mortis is ready to engage, allowing surprise dashes into the enemy. Sandy's build:
Gadget: Sweet Dreams
Star Power: Healing winds (the other one is better, but in synergy with Mortis use this one to support him)
Gears: Exhausting Storms and Damage
